Cost Controller
Our client, a leading global vegetable seed company, is looking for a Cost Controller to join their Finance and Accounting team in Thailand. In this role, you will act as a key finance business partner to Operations and Procurement, taking ownership of the end-to-end costing process while providing critical analysis and control across manufacturing costs, inventory rates, budgeting, CAPEX, and fixed assets.

- Set, maintain, and periodically review standard unit costs for each product.
- Review work orders and compare projected costs against actual production costs to identify variances.
- Analyze cost variances related to materials, production efficiency, labor, and overhead, and investigate root causes.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis, findings, and recommendations for management.
- Validate Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and coordinate changes with Operations to ensure cost structures remain current.
- Support the preparation, tracking, and management of operational budgets for cost centers.
- Prepare cost projections and forecasts to support business planning.
- Monitor actual spending against budget and flag material deviations.
- Own CAPEX tracking from request and approval through to capitalization.
- Manage fixed asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation, including maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Coordinate physical fixed asset verification and reconciliation of the fixed asset register.
- Partner with Operations and Procurement on cost-saving initiatives, scrap/disposal reduction, and pricing strategy input.
- Support Finance projects, ERP upgrades, and system enhancements related to costing and fixed asset modules.
- Act as a review and control checkpoint for inventory costing outputs prepared by the Accountant, Inventory and Costing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in cost accounting or financial controlling within a manufacturing plant environment.
- Strong understanding of costing, variance analysis, BOM structures, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Working knowledge of CAPEX processes, asset capitalization, and depreciation accounting.
- Experience with ERP systems and cost management processes; MS Dynamics 365 experience is preferred, with SAP experience also considered.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and good command of MS Office / Google Workspace.
