Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for a wide range of building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical system design, engineering calculations, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and communication with clients throughout project development. This role requires strong technical capability in electrical building services design and the ability to collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for building projects including power distribution, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection, and emergency power systems.
  • Perform electrical calculations such as load calculations, system sizing, and technical analysis.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate electrical design with architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines to ensure design integration.
  • Work closely with BIM/CAD teams to maintain accurate and coordinated drawings.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve technical issues across disciplines.
  • Support project teams during design stages including concept design, schematic design, detailed design, and construction documentation.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material specifications.
  • Provide technical clarification and engineering support during construction when required.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders regarding design solutions and technical matters.
  • Attend meetings and present engineering concepts or technical proposals when required.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet company standards and project requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of best engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for projects such as commercial buildings, factories, hospitality buildings, data centers, high-rise buildings, and mixed-use developments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical building systems design and electrical calculations.
  • Ability to coordinate with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Basic knowledge of other engineering disciplines within building services.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit is an advantage.
  • Good attitude, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work well with others.
  • Open-minded with willingness to learn and adapt in a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years of experience in food manufacturing operations, with at least five years in a senior plant leadership or factory management role.
  • Demonstrable track record managing multi-department factory operations within the food sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety and manufacturing compliance standards, including GMP, HACCP, and FSSC 22000.
  • Proven delivery of continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives, ideally underpinned by lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience implementing or improving ERP, MES, or production planning systems; comfortable using data and KPIs to drive decisions.
  • Strong capability in process mapping, workflow design, and SOP development.
  • Evidence of having transitioned a factory from manual, experience-led operations into a more structured, digitally supported environment.
  • Credible floor presence; the temperament to lead from inside the operation, not just from the office.
