Description: Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate managers and employees performing highly specialized roles in a major function or division/department within medium to large sites. Work requires investigating and resolving a wide variety of highly unusual conditions that carry long-term implications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of departments responsible for the manufacture of printed circuit assemblies and related products: purchasing, planning, order fulfillment, production, distribution, facilities management, and asset management.

  • Select employees, assign objectives, review performance, and approve employee compensation.

  • Coach for improved performance, approve disciplinary actions, and reassign personnel as necessary to optimize production.

  • Establish, implement, and monitor strategic processes to maintain and improve production and production support.

  • Plan, manage, and control performance by establishing overall direction, priorities, and departmental performance metrics.

  • Drive continuous improvements in processes and manage departmental budgets.

  • Develop strategic planning objectives, communicate them to subordinates, and allocate resources to achieve goals.

  • Participate on the site management team to help plan and set strategic direction.

  • Interface with internal and customer design teams on yields, supplier issues, design improvements, and testing issues.

  • Participate on company world-wide teams to share information and help implement global initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Typical experience of 11 to 14 years’ relevant experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing departments, production processes, tools, and equipment.

  • Understanding of how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery, and profitability.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of employees within tight deadlines in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Extensive experience in World Class Manufacturing/Lean implementation.

 

Desirable:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.

 

Qualifications

  • Education level: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Language: Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

  • Interpret as requested on the production line, in plants, and during meetings between Japanese and Thai staff
  • Translate documents, reports, manuals, work instructions, and internal communications between Japanese and Thai

  • Assist with coordination between Japanese management, engineers, and production teams to ensure alignment on tasks and instructions
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all interpretation and translation work

Requirements

  • JLPT Japanese proficiency level N1 or N2 (Must have)
  • At least one year of experience as a Japanese Interpreter in a manufacturing or production environment
