A global semiconductor company specializing in analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing ICs for industrial, automotive, communications, and data center markets. The Thailand facility serves as a dedicated test and backend manufacturing hub, with a newly opened advanced facility adding cleanroom capacity for wafer-level processing, chip-scale packaging, and final IC test operations.
Chonburi, Thailand | Reports to: Director, Test Engineering
ROLE PURPOSE
Writes and maintains the test programs that electrically validate semiconductor products before shipment to customers worldwide. Covers the full test lifecycle, silicon bring-up, characterization across voltage/temperature/frequency corners, yield analysis and debug, through to production release for high-volume manufacturing. The role sits at the intersection of IC design, manufacturing, and quality, translating circuit-level understanding into automated test solutions on ATE platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ATE Test Program Development
- Develop, debug, and optimize test programs for Teradyne UltraFLEX and/or Advantest V93K platforms using C/C++ and Python
- Perform silicon bring-up on first silicon, powering on new devices, validating basic functionality, and feeding results back to design
- Execute device characterization across voltage, temperature, and frequency corners to define production test limits and datasheet specifications
- Develop and maintain test program documentation including test plans, flow diagrams, and test specifications
- Analyze yield data to identify failure trends, distinguish test-related from design/process-related issues, and drive yield improvement initiatives
- Support production test release, ensuring programs run reliably at volume with target cycle times and coverage
- Debug test failures at bench and tester level, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Monitor and improve test program efficiency including test time reduction, site count optimization, and cost-of-test initiatives
- Work closely with Design Engineering to translate device specifications into testable parameters and resolve silicon vs. test ambiguities
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support new product introductions and production ramp
- Interface with global test engineering teams across multiple sites to align test methodologies and share best practices
- Support quality and reliability engineering with test data, failure analysis, and guard-band optimization
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 3–10+ years in semiconductor test development (P3: 3–5 years; P4: 6–10+ years)
- Technical: Hands-on ATE experience with Teradyne UltraFLEX (IG-XL) and/or Advantest V93K (SmarTest): required; C/C++ and/or Python for test program development, required; silicon bring-up, device characterization, yield analysis, production release, failure debug
- Industry: Analog, mixed-signal, power management, or data converter ICs — strongly preferred
- Leadership: Cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product, and Manufacturing teams; analytical problem-solving; clear technical communication
- Preferred: Test hardware design (load boards, probe cards); statistical analysis tools (JMP, Minitab); semiconductor manufacturing processes (wafer sort, final test)
