Position Overview:

Our client is a leading renewable energy provider, specializing in delivering clean and reliable energy solutions. As the Regional Head of Business Development (SEA), you will be responsible for driving the company’s growth across Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and other growing economies by developing and executing strategies to expand market presence, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, and securing long-term agreements. The role requires managing relationships with key stakeholders, navigating the region's energy landscape, and leading complex negotiations to support the client’s mission of promoting a sustainable energy transition across SEA.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to accelerate growth across the SEA (and APAC) regions, focusing primarily on Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
  • Market Analysis: Identify, assess, and prioritize new market opportunities in line with the company’s goals, leveraging insights into the renewable energy market, emerging technologies, and evolving regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead Generation & Qualification: Actively identify and qualify potential leads, driving the process from initial engagement to securing long-term commercial agreements.
  • Negotiations: Lead the negotiation and closing of energy agreements with commercial and industrial clients, utilities, and government bodies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, corporate partners, and investors.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the technical, legal, and financial teams to ensure successful project delivery and long-term client satisfaction.
  • Revenue and Market Share Growth: Define and implement initiatives to increase revenue, market share, and geographic footprint within the region, with a particular focus on medium to large-scale projects.
 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the renewable energy or related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy landscape in Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, including regulatory policies, market drivers, and competitive dynamics.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing energy agreements and leading complex negotiations is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and strategically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Hunter-mindset, proactive approach and results-oriented, essentially a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude.
