Our client, a leader in tropical vegetable seeds, is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Sourcing Manager to manage complex procurement categories and lead strategic sourcing initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel in cost analysis, pricing trend forecasting, and cost-saving strategy development.
This role includes identifying long-term supply partners, negotiating enterprise-wide contracts, and refining sourcing policies. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business goals is a key aspect of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business priorities to optimise procurement decisions
- Work with business partners to drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process improvements and identify the best sourcing options
- Establish rules and methods to assess supplier performance and define selection criteria for new partners
- Negotiate contracts following company policies, providing interpretation and analysis to mitigate contractual risks
- Review and evaluate supplier requests for changes or revisions in contracts affecting technical specifications, cost, or schedules
- Collaborate with the Procurement community to implement category strategies that maximise value for money and ensure continuous improvement
- Promote and implement transformation programs through effective communication plans, achieving a structured and resilient procurement framework
- Provide value-adding reports to assess the company’s spend landscape, identifying synergies and cost-saving opportunities
Qualifications:
- Degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field
- At least five years of proven experience as a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager
- Mastery of sourcing and vendor management, with proficiency in relevant software and applications
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and business judgment
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to negotiate effectively in diverse multinational markets and maintain strong networking relationships
- Analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Sound judgment with the ability to make quick and effective decisions
