Our client, one of the world's leading automotive Tier 1 suppliers, is seeking an HSE Manager to oversee technical safety and environmental activities at their facility.
This role is integral to establishing control systems, fostering a culture of safety, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting to the corporate Risk Management department, the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager will also play a key role in supporting broader corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain knowledge of Thai Occupational Health & Safety standards and regulations, conducting inspections and reviews of new equipment and materials to ensure compliance
  • Foster effective communication between upper management, supervisors, and employees to facilitate collaboration and coordination
  • Develop and assist the plant management team in implementing awareness programs such as 5-S, housekeeping audits, and process risk assessments
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date safety policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance
  • Chair and coordinate safety team activities to maintain their involvement in plant operations
  • Maintain knowledge of Thai environmental regulations, oversee waste disposal improvements, and conduct regular compliance inspections
  • Conduct required compliance training and develop a training network using a train-the-trainer approach
  • Serve as the Environmental Management Representative, coordinating audits, addressing deficiencies, and improving systems
  • Manage permit filings and establish corrective action methods in response to regulatory agency communication
  • Oversee compliance-related data collection and reporting, ensuring budget adherence and contingency planning
  • Act as the company’s representative for safety and environmental customer requirements, coordinating internally to address related issues
  • Coordinate customer requirements, including reporting safety and environmental data, ensuring compliance with specifications
  • Assess training needs and provide clear communication of procedures and work practices
  • Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental legal requirements through proper communication and procedure enforcement
  • Halt unauthorized processes that may compromise safety, cause environmental incidents, or affect product quality
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Systems (TS16949) and HSEM systems (ISO 14001)
  • Recognize evolving responsibilities based on business needs, ensuring compliance with the company’s Legal and Ethical Compliance Policy
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Manager or equivalent in an industrial setting
  • Background in environmental management is a plus
  • Proficiency in PC applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Database)
  • Ability to work with frequent exposure to noise and operating machinery
  • Willingness to travel as required
