Group Business Operation Controller

Our client, a global leader in the agriculture and seed industry, is seeking a Group Business Operation Controller to lead cross-border financial planning, performance management, and operational control across its global business units. This pivotal role supports strategic decision-making at a group level, fosters alignment between country operations, and ensures sustainable value creation for the business.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to Group leadership by delivering financial insights, operational analysis, and commercial guidance to support growth across multiple markets
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes in coordination with local finance teams
• Build and maintain group-level dashboards and performance tools to monitor KPIs and drive data-informed decisions
• Assess investments, new initiatives, and cost optimisation efforts across business units and recommend strategic actions
• Collaborate with country controllers, the Chief Operating Officer, shared service teams, and Group Finance to ensure consistent and high-quality financial reporting
• Align financial strategies across core functions including Supply Chain, Operations, Sales & Marketing, and R&D
• Oversee or contribute to audits, compliance reviews, and internal control processes across international entities
• Champion best practices, tools, and continuous improvement in financial operations and analytics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A and operations controlling, with multi-country exposure
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders in a global context
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and strong Excel/data analysis skills
• Strategic thinker with commercial awareness and excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English; additional language proficiency is a plus
• Agile, proactive, and comfortable building systems and frameworks in evolving environments
