Senior Customs Clearance Import Officer

Our client is a global logistics company offering comprehensive supply chain solutions, including multi-modal transport, warehousing, customs clearance, and innovative value-added services.
We are currently seeking a Senior Customs Clearance Import Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and reviewing shipping documentation, coordinating with consignees and Customer Service, preparing import/export entries, managing the import clearance and delivery process, and ensuring timely payment of charges.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with the Account Owner to maintain a high standard of work ethic
• Assist in qualifying potential customers alongside the Account Owner
• Respond promptly to customer email inquiries, resolving any complaints or issues to ensure customer satisfaction
• Update costs and selling rates regularly, in coordination with the Account Owner
• Provide quotes within KPI based on customer enquiries and requirements
• Procure costs by liaising with overseas contacts for rate requests, following information provided by the Account Owner
• Manage the company ticketing system according to the SOP, ensuring tickets are closed efficiently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 4-7 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on customs clearance procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC operation
• Strong communication skills, with a willingness to improve and use English
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience with EDI systems is preferred
• Strong customer service and soft skills required
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and clear communication skills
