Our client, a pioneer in the advanced energy sector, is a global leader renowned for delivering cutting-edge solutions that power businesses worldwide. As they continue to enhance their procurement division, they are seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee indirect spends across a diverse range of categories.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage the procurement division in Thailand, focusing on indirect spends for categories such as equipment, facilities, IT, MRO, professional services, and Capex items
- Lead procurement projects, manage purchasing tenders, and make informed supplier selections
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure high levels of supplier performance
- Provide strategic support for business and procurement activities, ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Identify and cultivate cost-effective supply sources to meet the company’s growth plans
- Manage price negotiations, analyse price trends, and oversee supplier contracts
- Lead and mentor a team of buyers, promoting continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to standardise procurement activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- Extensive experience in indirect purchasing and supply chain management, ideally within an electronics manufacturing environment
- Proven track record in developing and executing category and commodity strategies
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team effectively
- Proficiency in SAP or Ariba and strong skills in Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and manage multiple projects simultaneously
