Packaging Production Manager

Our client is a leading multinational manufacturing company, with a rapidly growing presence in Thailand and throughout Asia. As a part of their expansion, they are currently looking for a new Packaging Production Manager to drive packaging technology and production innovation in Thailand. The future Packaging Manager will cooperate closely with Supply Chain Controller to set up and organize a new packaging manufacturing production line, including choice and purchasing of new machines, recruitment of the team and creating best practices and highest standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take full responsibility for the operation, definition and execution of the company’s packaging production process in a truly international environment. 

Responsibilities

• Be a decision maker for planning and purchasing the packaging machinery for the new factory extension
• Lead day-to-day packaging production performance to achieve the company’s target.
• Identify and develop new processes for product’s packaging flow.
• Research, evaluate and implement new packaging technology and materials to support new product development.
• Implement process controls to make sure the packages are of a high quality and are manufactured in a reproducible manner.
• Monitor activities so that all requirements of packing procedures and packing standards are met at all times.
• Ensure the execution of standardized operating procedures, and encourage the sense of emergency, root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Conduct packaging trials in the production lines to ensure quality and operation performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionality with marketing, procurement, suppliers, production and warehouse, to manage project timelines and secure project achievement.
• Work closely with the Senior Management Team to identify ways to reduce costs and improve the quality of all processes.
• Develop, adapt, and continue to improve the packaging development process to fit with the change in organization.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in the packaging manufacturing industry is a must.
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Sciences, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), or related field is advantageous.
• Proven experience executing design initiatives to meet the company’s needs.
• Strong expertise in packaging manufacturing, machines and production environment.
• Proven experience in setting up new production lines.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to plan/prioritize activities of varying complexity.
• Flexibility to work in an international environment.
• Continuous Improvement mindset.
